Ok, so here are is the grand post from our California vacation. We had SO much fun!! It all began Friday April 3rd when we flew into San Jose and drove up to San Francisco.
The first big event was Kathy and Jonathan got engaged!! It was so awesome.
We were able to witness the whole thing. Kathy was beyond surprised which made it all the better! So happy engagement to the happy couple! :)
A champagne toast to the couple!
After that we just toured around San Fran... here we are in Ghirardelli Square
Lombard St.
cheesin' it up in downtown San Fran...
Golden Gate!
On to Wine tasting in Sonoma and Napa! Our first stop was a vineyard called Viansa, it was very yummy. The problem with wine country is that there are SO MANY great wines to choose from it's hard to pick ones you want to buy! Of course on the list was Del Dotto... he had to do the wine cave tour. (one of our personal fav's that we had to introduce Jonathan and Kathy to) It was a lot of fun and of course the wine was delicious. Here's a picture inside the cave:
a picture of us all in front of the cave...
This is at a sparkling wine vineyard called Mumm Napa. We took a tour of how they make their sparkling wine and also got to taste some wonderful varieties.
Next up! On to our resort in Angel's Camp where we stayed from Sunday night to Friday. We took a day to hiking in Yosemite and here are some pics from that. It was so much fun!!
The view was amazing!
This is lower Yosemite Falls
El Capitan= beautiful!
This is called the "Three Brothers"
Bridalveil Falls:
The day was truly amazing, we hiked almost ten miles and the weather was awesome the entire time! We were so incredibly lucky we were almost to our car when a huge snow storm hit.
and this was our drive home...
thankfully we made it home with no trouble!
We also did a Gold Cave Mine tour but those pictures are on a disposable camera which I have yet to develop... so here's pictures of the day we went to Big Trees State Park. This park was so much fun, we learned a TON about the Sequoia's and Redwoods... and of course got a ton of great pics...
as you can see we totally did not wear the right hiking apparel.... hahaha.
after that we deserved some more wine tasting... :)
More pictures to post soon of our cave tour... I hope they turned out!
